The Few, The Proud, The Marines by Robert Dale Works Sgt. USMC

When I was a boy at age 17 I joined the United States Marines

I was already tuff and I heard it was rough but that’s what I wanted to be

So I dropped out of school like a young fool and I set out to fulfill my dream

Little did I know then what I was about to get in and this was no place to be

What could I do now I had to finish some how to make my dad proud of me

For his son to become a member of one, the few, the proud, the Marines

You look like a big monkey or just an oversized clown

Now leave me alone and I won’t put you down

Confused and bewildered the giant just stood there with his tongue hanging out

I then continued on my journey just wondering about
